Your Home Energy Audit Report

About your Home Energy Report

Audit Report Features

  • The information gathered during the home energy audit is evaluated using computations and analytical procedures to produce a comprehensive Home Energy Report.

  • The Report shows which energy-efficiency improvements would reduce energy costs and make the home more comfortable.

  • The analysis takes into account regional variables such as local weather, implementation costs, and fuel prices.

  • The Report contains estimates of the energy savings, costs and cost/benefit payback period for energy-efficiency recommendations.

  • The Report identifies those improvements that, if financed, will save more on energy bills than they cost due to reduced costs you are projected to expend for energy. These are the improvements that are most attractive to a homeowner, since they require no out-of-pocket cost when financed. There may be additional energy tax deductions and local, state and federal monetary incentives from improvements you make that may further reduce improvement costs - and in many cases actually earn you money above your energy improvement costs.

  • The detailed recommendations section enables home improvement contractors from whom you request bids to provide preliminary cost estimates without a visit to your home. You may seek out bids from any contractors you wish, or from those we can recommend if so requested by you.

  • It also explains how you can get the best energy savings from these improvements by listing related no-cost and low-cost measures that you can pursue yourself.

    Infrared Thermal Imaging Report

During most energy audits many infrared images are recorded, as well as during stand-alone thermal inspections that are conducted for specific reasons without an accompanying energy audit. These images are presented in the energy audit report, or the thermal imaging report, to document the observations made, to support our conclusions and recommendations, and to provide the homeowner with graphic evidence of our findings.

In many cases regular digital photos of a scene will be displayed adjacent to an infrared image of the same scene so the homeowner can easily see problems that the thermal imaging camera detected, but the unaided human eye and standard visual inspection could not.
