Before founding Therma-Check, LLC, our company owner, Joel E. Smith, CSE, had over 25 years of advanced technical experience as a Senior Environmental Scientist and Project Manager with various engineering consulting companies in the Mid-Atlantic region. His work there involved conducting comprehensive investigations and providing solutions for public and private clients on a wide range of environmental and energy-related projects. Joel also has a Master of Science degree in the Environmental Sciences from Michigan State University and post-graduate studies from Pennsylvania State University.
Although there are thousands of Professional Ecologists around the world, only 15 have attained the status of Certified Ecologist in Maryland, and only 8 of those have achieved the level of Certified Senior Ecologist. Joel Smith, Therma-Check's owner, is one of them, which is a testament to his experience, knowledge and dedication to the science, principles and ethics that are required for that achievement.
Mr. Smith eventually incorporated his experience into the establishment of Therma-Check, LLC in order to provide a greater focus on the energy issues of homeowners in the Central Maryland, Baltimore Metro Region and Hanover, Pennsylvania area.
